Kathy & David
Welcome!
Thank you for joining the adventure.
A little about us:
We met in New Zealand in 2006 when the stars and planets aligned. Kathy was looking for a boat to sail around the world and David was searching for a sailing partner to join the journey. Thousands of sea miles later we are inseparable soul mates. We got married on Valentines Day (Feb 14, 2010) at Caye Caulker, Belize.
Together we are charting a course through life well off the beaten path. A zig zagging journey rich in authentic experiences, local culture, history and great friends. Along the way we endeavor to leave a clean wake, a minuscule carbon footprint and as many foot prints in the sand as possible.
Our passage making experience is considerable having sailed over 40,000 miles collectively. We enjoy sharing our experiences and hope you might join us for a sundowner or week long vacation…

The boundless freedom, exploration and new challenges of the sailing lifestyle offer endless rewards. When I graduated from University in 1996 with a construction project management degree I was busy formulating the goal to someday embark on a sailing journey. By 2005 I was ready to shove off into the great unknown having owned, lived aboard and extensively sailed three different yachts throughout the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Since the journey began in 2005 a few of the major milestones are sailing 3200+ nm non-stop to the Marqueses Islands, over 21 days at sea! Exploring the Tuamotu atolls, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Cook islands, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu and Australia and accumulating over 15,000 nm in the process.
Count me in for shoreside adventures from climbing the tallest mountain, hanging with the locals to tracking down the coldest beer and best local bands. On the water you’ll find me helping out other sailors, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, reading and maintaining the boat.

Ever since I was a kid I dreamed about sailing around the world. Spending a lot of time on ski boats and houseboats and a passion for traveling culminated in my desire to embark on this trip. Several years after college I was living in San Diego and really got into the sailing scene. I figured if I’m going to sail around the world, I better start learning how to sail! I joined a sailing club, acquired numerous ASA certifications, raced and cruised. With a great career in biotechnology and after completing an MBA, I did what any normal person would do and quit my job to follow my dream. After backpacking around Central America for a few months working on my spanish and looking for a boat to crew I made my way to the other side of the world and finally met Dave in New Zealand. From there we embarked on a year long cruise of the South Pacific and experienced the adventure of a lifetime. We now are trying to make this lifetime an adventure!
If you want a running, hiking, swimming or yoga partner, I will be right there with you. I love to cook and have a specialty in the preparation of sushi grade fish preparation, so if we catch something good count on fresh sushi or pan seared fish.
